First exam

Okay, I'm sorry if the upcoming week won't be filled with interesting posts. I'm busy with an exam for my celtic history and culture class and at the same time I have to keep up with my welsh class. This = busy busy busy week! I'm writing my essay on this topic:
"Discuss the nature and main features of early Celtic society."
Nngh, gives me a headache but it feels great to finally be able to do something with the knowledge I've acquired during the past months.
Alright, now I'm off to try to write some more. The start is always the hardest, right?

The final result

Tomorrow is the last day to apply for the swedish universities next term. I changed my mind a bit actually and these are the courses I will take instead, haha.. xD

1. Early languages
2. Medieval celtic kings and heroes
3. Welsh II (I realized I want to read it a bit more :))
4. Orientation course in indoeuropean languages

I'm finally satisfied!
Dw i'n mynd i dysgu Cymraeg heddiw. (I'm going to study welsh today) ;D

Dreams

There's something special going on in my head at the moment... As I've browsed through my news feed at facebook the last couple of months there's been one particular thing that jumped my mind: everyone is going abroad! Okay... perhaps not everyone. But I do have some friends that have gone to France and America as au-pair's, some people went abroad to study (for example Japan and England) and one's gone off to Tenerife to work. How awesome is that?!
This whole thing put me into thinking a lot about what I'd like to do myself the upcoming years. Well, of course, I do have my studies and everything but I'd like to go somewhere and get some experience. One month in London wasn't enough to satisfy my needs.

At the moment, there are two particular things I've been thinking of.
1. Working in London for a year or so. I really feel the need to go back there, I miss it so much my heart aches a little every time I think of it. The thing is, I don't think I'd like to go by my own... I guess I'll have to ask my friends if anyone is interested in joining me. ;)
2. To go on an awesome trip through Britain. Starting in Wales -> London -> Scotland -> Northern Ireland -> Ireland. This is one of my current dreams, I have to do it! (preferably during summer though, haha.)

I want to travel! Ngh, Sweden is so boring. Blah.

Chillin' in town

Good afternoon!
Today I've been hanging around in town with my friend Emil who's been up here in Uppsala for a few days. First of all we went to university to show him the place (since he's planning on moving up here next term^^) and then we (or.. more like me xD) went on a photo-spree! The weather was lovely and the autumn-colored trees are stunning! I'll post some pictures later when I've had time to look through them all ;)

Yarr, harr, derp?

We also found this awesome CD store! I went in with no plans on buying anything, and went out with these:

323 SEK all in all (About 32 euros). That's extremely cheap for two concert DVD's and 2 CD's.

My new home

Ta-daah! I finally bring some pictures of the apartment since I've just adjusted myself and everything. Feels great!
This is the house we live in. Please excuse the garbage in the lower right corner, haha... xD
The kitchen. :)
The other part of the kitchen.
Our rooms...
Otto playing some video games in his room, eheheh.

My room! With my bed which also works as a sofa during the day.
More of my room.
And my computer area. :D
The end!

Welcome to my nightmare, I think you're gonna like it.

Quick update!
I'm home again to pick up my stuff (like.. my bed for example xD) and the next week we're moving in! The rent has been paid, we've got our keys and so on. The apartment is just waiting. Whoop!
This means I won't update much this weekend because I'll be quite busy. But there's a few things I can tell you:
1. I'm now officially going to the Iron Maiden concert in Gothenburg. Had to queue for 45 minutes but it's worth it. :) I think my brother will be thrilled.
2. Just finished watching Alice Cooper's Theatre of Death and my face is basically like this: *_* Great DVD - the only thing I can complain about is the sound at some parts - when Alice swings around his microphone too quick and such, there's a screeching sound. That's the only bad thing. The rest is just awesomeness - I couldn't help smiling at parts I'm familiar with from the show at Sonisphere this summer. I miss it.
3. Raubtier live on Saturday! Will tell you more about it next week. :)

University this spring

I've just applied for the university courses this spring!

These are the ones I'd love to take:
1. Early languages 7,5 points
2. The origin, development and use of writing 7,5 points
3. Medieval celtic kings and heroes 7,5 points
4. Orientation course in indoeuropean languages 7,5 points

The last date is the 15th of october though, so I might change my mind like a thousand times.. Haha.

These courses seem really interesting though!

Speaking of university, I have a ton of welsh to study this week - it's both very interesting and fun, but also hard.

"Hollywood is here"

Well hello! Today I bring some pictures. We went to the city today to have a little look at the recording site of the Hollywood version of "The girl with the dragon tattoo". It was rather nice and we got ourselves a long, good walk.
Ta-da! Without the fluffy hair. It's been annoyingly windy here today so I decided not to go with fluffy hair since the wind would ruin it.
Autumn is here...!
Uppsala, with the cathedral in the background. :)
Here we go! The site where they are filmning. We couldn't see that much but it was fun to see it at least.
A tired Otto.. Haha x)
Police etc. Haha!

Braindead

As you might have noticed I've been a good student today, haha. I studied welsh for about 6 hours today (=brain dead afterwards) and now I feel really proud of myself. Tomorrow it's time for some more studying and then it's finally weekend!
Other than that, I finished all my Werock reviews for this month. Raubtier's album kicks ass~ (and tomorrow it's money-time! I'm gonna get myself some new clothes, haha.)

Dych chi'n hoffi coffi?

Studystudystudy.

This picture shows my day in a nutshell. Bleeeeeh.
(+ some music by Cinderella, Iron Maiden and Raubtier to accompany me)

Crüe and the election

Today I'm staying at my grandmother and grandfather's place, it's both great and boring since there's not much to do here really. So I'm currently spending my time listening to good ol' Mötley Crüe! I also got my laptop a new little wallpaper.

Just love that image...! I mean just take a look at Mick and Nikki! They look completely insane, haha.

Today's the swedish election. As long as the xenophobic party "Sverigedemokraterna" doesn't make their way into the parliament I'm quite fine (even though I don't agree with the current government). But there's a risk.. I can't understand how anyone would vote for them but appearantly a lot of people agree with their views, which in my opinion is disgusting. If they enter the parilament I'll honestly be ashamed to be a swede. Bleh!

I'm back

And once again there's been quite some time since my last post. Sorry about that. It's just that I've been really busy these weeks and my studies are starting as well. And I've been to emotional to write anything... ahem...
Currently I'm living in a caravan with my friend Otto while we are looking for a suitable apartment. It's sometimes really hard to stay strong and everything but I hope we'll manage to pull through. Today I feel a bit homesick so it's not too great but I guess I'll survive.

One thing that I've discovered these weeks is what I want to become in the future. And no, it's not a translator or interpreter. Can you guess what? Hint: I've been working at a place where these people work...
Yup! A librarian (or possibly someone who works at a museum). I know people are going to say: "What? Librarian? But that's such a waste. I mean, look at the salary?".
To be honest, I couldn't care less. I pick the job I find interesting and if I feel content with that choice, co-workers and so on, I don't really think the salary is a huge deal. I'd rather have this job than something with a high salary which I'd be utterly bored of.
I guess this is a step ahead. It's always easier to focus on something if I know exactly what goal it is, haha.

I'll get back to you the upcoming days. Now off to study a bit!

A long way

I checked Google maps to see how far from my hometown I'll live soon. Here's a map:

Quite a long way from home...

One more week

One week until I'm moving...! Or well, not really moving, because I will stay at a camp for two months. You see, I just got myself an apartment! :D Can't move in until the 1st of November though, but it's at least something! Yaaaay!

Ahum, nevertheless, just seven days left until I'm going there and my studies start soon as well. Aaah, I'm both happy and nervous and sad! So many emotions. I'm going to miss my friends so much...

Here are some pictures of the place I'm moving to. It looks pretty neat doesn't it? 3 rooms+kitchen. I'll share it with my friend Otto who is moving with me. :)

Thoughts about the future.

This afternoon I've been going from panicking to being calm, to panic again. I am exhausted.

Basically I am moving to a new city about 8-9 hours away from where I live right now to attend university. I will be taking courses in Celtic Studies this first term and then I will do something different the next term. Sounds quite alright doesn't it? Well, it would be - if I only had an apartment. I've been trying to get hold of one since april this year and I still haven't found one thanks to the insane lack of apartments in that city. And since I live this far away I can't exactly try to look for one by going there on a day-trip or something.
My course starts Monday the 30th - in 13 days. And I'm desperate now. It appears that I have to live at a camp for the first month, and if I'm not that lucky - for two months. I just don't know if I'm up to it but if I don't go there to study I won't have anything else to do for the whole autumn. Getting a job is out of the question since it's almost impossible to just get a job that quickly over here.
So.. I have 13 more days left here. And I'm getting cold feet. (no wonder why huh?) I'm afraid that I'll miss my friends too much and basically my mind is making up all kinds of excuses. At this point I was thinking a bit of London - a city further away than the one I'm moving to. I was so scared in the beginning but then I didn't want to go home in the end. I just hope It'll be the same this time - but of course, I don't have an apartment yet and I guess that's what scares me the most.

Oops, sorry for this wall of emotional text but I felt like I had to write it down to get it out of my mind. :)
