Top 10 Singers

Finally Friday. I almost thought I'd die with my head down in the books. Done with this week's studies, finally. So. As I've been sitting here this afternoon browsing the endless websites in cyberspace I thought I'd write something more interesting than my last posts.
I hereby present... my list of 10 top singers! It was hard, but I somehow managed to put together this list with the voices that makes my ear go into eargasm mode, haha. There are of course lots of other great singers as well, but these somehow manage to stand out from most of the ones I've heard so far. And no, these are not in any particular order.
Alice Cooper
Not really a surprise, huh? Alice's voice is so special. It's sometimes smooth and gentle, and sometimes purely rough, all depending on what song he's singing. Appearantly he's working on a new album now, and let's just say I'm pretty much hyped about it...
(Oh, and Melissa, if you happen to read this. See the shirt? ;D)

ALICE COOPER - Nurse Rozetta
ALICE COOPER - Vengeance is Mine
ALICE COOPER - Sunset Babies (All got Rabies)

Till Lindemann (Rammstein)
Aaah, now this is one hell of a voice! Till has got this dark, evil (and... german?) voice, which does a lot for Rammstein's music and sound in general. I mean, what would Rammstein be without Till? Exactly.
I can't get enough of his voice, it's without doubt one of my top favourites.

RAMMSTEIN - Ich Will
RAMMSTEIN - Engel
RAMMSTEIN - Frühling in Paris

Pär Hulkoff (Raubtier)
One of my newly discovered favourite voices. Raw, evil and powerful - that's the voice of Raubtier's singer, which suits their music perfectly. I haven't liked a swedish band this much for a long time, and a lot depends on Hulkoff's vocals. Listen and enjoy, I'm still amazed and can't really get how on earth he manages to sound like he does in song after song...

RAUBTIER - Lebensgefahr
RAUBTIER - Hjärteblod
RAUBTIER - Dobermann

Ronnie James Dio (DIO, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Heaven & Hell etc)
The little man with the big voice. I was devastated when he died earlier this year, I didn't even get to see him live and now it's too late. I don't really know how to describe his voice. It's very special and powerful, but other than that I don't know how to put it in words. Listen for yourselves. :)

RAINBOW - Long Live Rock'n'Roll
BLACK SABBATH - Heaven & Hell
DIO - Stand up and Shout

Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden)
I might not be the biggest Maiden fan ever, but I can't deny the fact that Bruce Dickinson has got one hell of a special voice. I happen to have a soft spot for operatic styled vocals and that's exactly what Bruce's voice is like...

IRON MAIDEN - Fear of the Dark
IRON MAIDEN - Blood Brothers
IRON MAIDEN - The Number of the Beast

Klaha (MALICE MIZER)
This man may be a little unknown to some people reading my blog. He was the last singer of my very treasured old favourite band MALICE MIZER and what a voice! Operatic and dark, just perfect. I get goosebumps by hearing him. During his era in Mizer the band went into a more gothic stage than earlier, which perfectly suited his voice. When the band decided to split up he pursued a solo career, with... pop songs. And nowadays I haven't heard anything about him other than that he had some sort of sickness going on. I'd love if he'd get back to doing operatic vocals again but I highly doubt it.

MALICE MIZER - 真夜中に交わした約束(Mayonaka ni Kawashita Yakusoku)
MALICE MIZER - Garnet
MALICE MIZER - 鏡の舞踏 幻惑の夜(Kagami no Butou Genwaku no Yoru)

Tarja Turunen (Nightwish)
Okay, this is the only female singer that actually makes it onto this list, haha. I just don't like female voices appearantly, but Tarja is an exception because her voice is just wow. Her voice is actually a quite dark one, and definitely sticks out from the crowd of endless amounts of female gothic/symphonic metal singers.

TARJA TURUNEN - Anteroom of Death
NIGHTWISH - Ever Dream
NIGHTWISH - Dark Chest of Wonders

Vince Neil (Mötley Crüe)
Haha, yes, yes. I had to use this picture because Vince looks so innocent and Mick is all angry. xD
Ahem, anyhow. What is there to say? I happen to be a huge Mötley fan (no shit) and I really enjoy Vince's voice. It's high-pitched and excellent, I haven't got much else to say.

MÖTLEY CRÜE - Girls, Girls, Girls
MÖTLEY CRÜE - Wild Side
MÖTLEY CRÜE - Don't go away mad (Just go away)

Marco Hietala (Nightwish, TAROT, Northern Kings)
Yes, yes, I happen to really like the vocalists of Nightwish. Marco's voice is raw, yet very easy to listen to. Definitely another great singer (and bass player, of course...!). There's not much more to say I think. ;)

NIGHTWISH - Master Passion Greed
TAROT - Pyre of Gods
NORTHERN KINGS - Take on Me

Hizumi (D'espairsRay)
Last but not least. This was a hard one. I mean, I love Hizumi's voice, but there were a few other candidates that also would deserve mention but in the end I decided to go with the singer of the japanese band D'espairsRay. I hardly listen to this band nowadays (or, more like, I don't listen to their new music since I got very disappointed with their change of sound a few years ago) buut, I can't deny the awesomeness of his voice.

D'ESPAIRSRAY - Grudge
D'ESPAIRSRAY - Gärnet
D'ESPAIRSRAY - Reddish -DIVA version-

To sum it all up: I'm a sucker for male voices. There's nothing wrong with female ones, it's just that I prefer male ones.
Edit: I seem to have counted wrong. xD There were only 9 people in this list the first time. I apologize and have added the last one. :) Thanks to Emil for pointing this out.

My long review of Alice Cooper's new DVD at WeRock has now been published. Click the image to check it out. (Only in swedish, as usual when it comes to WeRock.)

Nostalgia

Phewphew!
I think I've studied welsh for about 8 hours today, including av few pauses when it's been time to eat and such. But, on the other hand I've managed to work myself through almost all my homework for next tuesday! This means I'll have lots of time to spend with our two little guests, hehe. :> So, I better get back to my homework and finish up for today.

But before I go I'll treat you to a new spotify list (I don't know why but I've been in the mood of making specially themed lists). I put this one together yesterday when I was in an extremely nostalgic mood. I hereby present the list of good ol' cartoon theme songs! Enjoy. ;)

Happy Halloween!

As the title says ;) We don't really celebrate Halloween in Sweden but of course it's always great with an excuse to listen to Halloween-themed music and watch horror movies.

In honour of today I made an interesting spotify list with Halloween themed music only! Yay! How about the Addams Family Theme? Alice Cooper's Feed my Frankenstein? The Ghostbusters theme? Mötley Crüe's Shout at the Devil? Well, they're all there! I tried to put all Halloween songs I could think of in there so I guess it should satisfy anyone's spooky needs. Click the image below to open it. :)

Halloween!

Ozzy to Wacken!

I just got home from a long and refreshing jogging tour and just as I was about to leave the computer for a shower, I noticed this:

"The fan base of W:O:A waited for a long time, finally their prayers have been answered:

The “GODFATHER OF METAL” is going to rock the “Night to Remember” as headliner on Thursday at the 22nd Wacken Open Air.

So prepare yourselves for a unique live show of the “PRINCE OF DARKNESS” with his only german festival show in 2011!

Ozzy is back!

your
W:O:A team"

This is pretty cool, I've always wanted to see Ozzy live, especially now when I've been reading his biography which is quite entertaining. So here we go, another great artist to add to the lineup. Aah, I can't wait to see what other bands will be announced!

Other than that, I can now report that I'm amost done with my essay exam. I thought I'd finish it up this afternoon after I've had my lovely shower. Feels great!

Friday!

Friday! And I'm done with all studies for today which feels absolutely great. Soon we'll make some delicious dinner, watch TV and just enjoy the fact that it's finally friday. :)
Tomorrow we're probably off to IKEA - I have got get some stuff there and there's this huge supermarket next to it which means we'll try to fill up our food resources a bit as well.

I'm currently writing my only CD review for this month (I'm glad I didn't pick more than one, I'd never have the time considering how much I've had to study this month!). Which one it is? Aah. Do you remember the band Stahlmann I wrote about a while ago? Well, it's their debut album, haha.
Oh, and press the little album art to the left here to read our tips for music at WeRock during the autumn. (only in swedish though)

I may love metal but...

...I'm not stuck on one single musical genre ;) This track is so catchy and reminds me of the Cyberdog store. Imagine this song being pumped out of the speakers.

Pendulum - The Island Pt II (Dusk)

Something to pass the time

Got this list from here, translated it to english and here we go!

What do you listen to the most at the moment?
Hmm, the last week it's been a lot of Cinderella, Raubtier, Airbourne, Alice Cooper and W.A.S.P..

Mention one song that makes you sad
Oh.. hard to say just out of the blue. But I guess Alice Cooper's "Love's a loaded gun" is pretty sad.

Favourite band/artist of all time?
This is very difficult to say. I have a couple of ones: MALICE MIZER has a special place in my heart and so does Moi dix Mois - but I don't listen to them that frequently anymore. Rammstein, Mötley Crüe and Alice Cooper are among today's favourites.

Band/artist you just recently discovered?
Hmm. I just recently started to listen to W.A.S.P. and Cinderella even though I've told myself to give them a listen a lot earlier, haha. Oh and Airbourne as well.

Best female voice?
Whoa, hard one. I usually don't like to listen to female singers because I don't find their voices as interesting or beautiful as male ones. But Tarja Turunen has a rather nice voice...!

Best male voice?
THIS IS SO HARD. It totally depends on my mood! Till (Rammstein), Ronnie James Dio, Alice Cooper, Whiplasher (Deathstars), Bruce Dickinson, etcetcetcetc! So hard to say who's the best since they all work perfectly on me when I'm in different moods.

What musical genre do you listen to the most?
Metal? Haha. And some other stuff.

What do you listen to when you want to become happy?
Something upbeat or something with witty lyrics. Like Voltaire, Mötley Crüe, Alice Cooper and so on!
But then again... I also like to listen to some very angry music if I'm pissed off or in a bad mood in order to ger back to a normal and happy mood. So it depends I guess. :)

What do you listen to when you want to calm down?
Hmm. Classical music, some of Alice Cooper's calmer songs and some celtic folk music.

What do you listen to when you cook?
Whoa, it depends on what I'm cooking, and on what mood I'm in. xD Anything metal is great!

Last concert?
The Haunted in August. :)

Who or whom do you listen to the most right now?
Alice Cooper, Raubtier, W.A.S.P. etc?

Have you ever dated a musician?
Haha, well no, not really.

What do you think of classical music?
It's wonderful! Really relaxing and soothing. Also great to put on when you have to study.

Do you listen to music in foreign laguages?
Yes of course! I listen to music in swedish, english, german, japanese, spanish, gaulish (!), finnish, etc. I love different languages in music, in my opinion it gives the songs a completely different spirit!

If you were an instrument, what would you be?
A bass. Or perhaps a harpsichord.

Your favourite soundtrack?
Uuuh, does Pirates of the Caribbean count? ;)

Put on a song that ends this list nicely
Well, the song I'm listening to now is a great one. ;) Alice Cooper - Lost in America!

Wacken next year

In 2011 I'm going to attend my first Wacken Open Air ever. (or at least I hope to do so, I'm saving money like crazy) I'm going together with my friend Emil and perhaps some others as well - depending on if they will have the money or not.

However, since this year's festival recently ended there's not much to say about next year, except for six bands (there will be quite a lot more, haha). So far the bands are:

Airbourne
Apocalyptica
Avantasia
Blind Guardian
Mayhem
Suicidal Tendencies

The bands in bold are bands I'm interested in seeing. (Mayhem mainly because of their very interesting story. I'm not too fond if their music.)

Stahlmann

Third post today. Haha. I'm in a blogging mood, it seems?

Tonight I discovered an interesting band. The german inustrial/gothic metal band Stahlmann. My first thought was: What... this sounds like Rammstein?
But I guess I've changed my mind a bit now. I'm still not sure what to think about them, but they're worth a listen. Click here to give them a listen. The music is quite alright and I'm definitely going to give them a chance (I mean, what the hell. I love industrial metal in german... Ditching them because they sound similar to Rammstein feels a bit weird.)

That's it for today. Now I'd better go to bed since I have an important lecture tomorrow. Good night!

Maiden returns to Sweden

I just heard that Iron Maiden will come to Gothenburg among other Scandinavian cities next year. I spoke to my brother and he's also interested, so if we get our hands on a few tickets next week when they are released, we'll most likely go!

It was great to see them live at Sonisphere and my brother's a long-time fan so I don't want to miss out. Now off to listen a bit to The Final Frontier, which I've not had enough time to listen properly to. Now feels like a good time to do so ;)

Yum!

Just ordered Theatre of Death and tomorrow I'll get my hands on Skriet från vildmarken, woho!

Music and thoughts.

I'm back in the caravan, listening to some great music while thinking through an upcoming project at WeRock as well as longing for the 22th when Raubtier's new album will be released. 11 days until we get access to our apartment, YAY!

Oh and yes. "Sverigedemokraterna" entered our parliament yesterday and I'm greatly ashamed. 10 percent of the voters in my hometown voted for them. I can't even begin to describe how annoyed and disgusted I am. I wonder how the hell this could happen? The upcoming four years is something that I won't be happy about at all. Right wing plus xenophobes... Moving back to London feels quite tempting, haha...

I leave you with two great songs fit for today's mood!

Eluveitie - Inis Mona

D'espairsRay - Gärnet

D+Sect

I'm so looking forward to this. It's been a while, Mana!

Eluveitie

Today's post I'd like to dedicate to the swiss folk metal band Eluveitie. I don't know if I've written about them before, but here it goes anyway. The following italic text is copied from wikipedia since I'm too lazy to write it myself.

"Eluveitie (pronounced El-Vay-Tee) IPA: [ɛlˈveɪti]) is a Celtic metal band from Winterthur, Switzerland. The band formed in 2002 and their first EP, Vên came out in 2003. The band then released a full-length album, Spirit in June 2006. In November 2007, Eluveitie was signed by Nuclear Blast. The first product of the collaboration, Slania, was released in February 2008. The album peaked at number 35 in the Swiss charts and number 72 in the German charts.
Eluveitie use traditional instruments amidst guitars and loud vocals. The lyrics are often in the extinct language Gaulish. Eluveitie is Helvetic Gaulish for "I am the Helvetian", referring to an inscription dating to the earliest record of the Celtic Helvetii tribe from what is now Switzerland.

Eluveitie infuses traditional Celtic folk melodies with Gothenburg-styled melodic death metal. Eluveitie uses traditional folk instruments in their music, such as fiddles, tin whistles and flutes, and hurdy gurdies. The traditional folk tunes in their songs have been drawn from various sources, such as traditional Irish reels. While many of their lyrics are in English, some are in the ancient extinct Gaulish language. All of the lyrics on their 2009 release Evocation I - The Arcane Dominion are in Gaulish. Their lyrics are based on texts written in Gaulish such as prayers, invocations of the gods and other spirits.

The funny thing is, I started listening to this band way back before I decided to take the courses in Celtic Studies. But as I've been reading and studied further I really understood how much influence the band has taken from the celts. Really interesting! For example, as I was reading one of my books a few days ago I found a few ancient gaulish texts that were roughly translated to english. And I realized those texts are used in some Eluveitie songs on Evocation I - The Arcane Dominion ("Brictom", "A girl's oath" and "Dessumiis Luge"). Quite random, haha!

Eluveitie - Brictom

Sunday music

Good evening.
Today's been a productive day - we've washed our laundry, cleaned the caravan and so on. Feels great! Tomorrow is studying time again, and on tuesday my first class in Modern Welsh starts. Yum!
Today I thought I'd blog some about music. I discovered a very interesting band yesterday called HAGGARD. Here's a song by them that I really like.

HAGGARD - The Final Victory

They also did a cover of two certain songs I've heard a long while ago: Herr Mannelig and Hijo de la Luna. Very interesting. I'd call their music something of a mix of power metal and symphonic metal? Hmm, I'm not too good at those classifications, but... It's reminds me of medieval times and sends chills down my spine so I figured I'd let you know about them anyhow.

However, I borrowed this book at the library yesterday:

I'm looking forward to broaden my metal horizons. Ehehehe. Even though there are quite some albums I've heard in there. This'll be interesting.

And for the record - my review of Tarjas' What Lies Beneath can be read at WeRock here. (Only in swedish though)

Last but not least, you should check out Otto's blog, all you swedes (since it's in swedish). It's located here: Inuti Nötskalet.

Music, music and music.

New month, new music and so on. In case someone didn't know, I write some reviews every month for a swedish online magazine called Werock.se. Since it's a new month with new releases I decided to pick these ones up:

Embassy of Silence: "Euphorialight" - The debut from this finnish band.
Tarja Turunen: "What lies beneath" - And another CD from a Finnish person! Ex. Nightwish's singer has a wonderful voice and I decided to check her new album out.

Last but not least I'm also going to review Raubtier: "Skriet från vildmarken", but since the album nor album art haven't been released yet, I bring no picture. Sorry.
I'm hopefully going to see this band live the 2nd of october though! I'll get back to you later if I'll attend their gig. ;)

Since I'm still on the subject of music, I figured I'd tell you all to watch the documentary Global Metal. I just finished watching it and it got my attention due to the fact that Sam Dunn, the guy who made one of my favourite metal documentaries ever - Metal: A Headbanger's Journey - made it. Go check it out, it's definitely worth it! I enjoyed every minute.
Basically it's a documentary on the spreading of metal through the world and what it means to other cultures than just us "westeners".

Last but not least: I got my driver's license today. Finally. Am I proud and happy or what? ;D

Van Canto

Just one little update before I'm heading to my very comfortable bed. I got a visit from a friend this afternoon and we watched some TV, discussed music, listened to music and finally said good bye for quite some time... :(

Anyhow! My friend introduced me to a very interesting band: Van Canto. An a cappella band doing covers of quite a few metal songs! For example Nightwish's Wishmaster. Check this out:

I think it's brilliant! The only instrument they use is drums...
Got to get my hands on more of their material!

Raubtier - Änglar

Dedicated to a friend who celebrates his birthday today. Metal in swedish by the band Raubtier. I can't help loving this song, the lyrics are so corny! xD I don't think people who doesn't speak swedish will be able to really get the song, but it's pretty good nevertheless. Give it a listen!

Raubtier - Änglar

Vi tror på livet före döden,
För sedan blir det svårt
Ingen hand värmer våra öden
Allt är kallt och hårt

Värme får vi, när vodkan bränner
Vår kyrka är en bar
Vi dövar bort vad själen känner
Tills ingenting finns kvar

Himlen port är evigt stängd
Vägen upp till gud är sprängd
Vingarna har rivits loss
Himlen passar inte oss

Änglar, vi blir inga änglar

Han får ha kvar sin vita klänning
Den vill jag inte ha
Jag trivs med eldkraft och högspänning
Svart passar bra
Där decibel och kärnkraft smäller
Hörs min typ av psalm
Jag valde mellan fromhet eller
Sprit och Napalm

Himlen port är evigt stängd
Vägen upp till gud är sprängd
Vingarna har rivits loss
Himlen passar inte oss

Änglar, vi blir inga änglar

Sonisphere Festival 2010 Report

Alright, it took me a little while to translate my report into english, but here it goes!

Sonisphere in Stockholm 2010 could be described with one single word: wow. But that doesn't tell the reader that much so I figured I'd tell you about it in detail. ;)

I went to Stora Skuggan about 11am - which was the time for the admission. But I had already got my festival band the day before during the preparty. This meant I didn't have to queue up in the enormous queue. The admission was delayed for about half an hour though and so I entered the festival area about a quarter before Warrior Soul started to play. Aaand during that time I got myself some merchandise before the queues became huge.

WARRIOR SOUL
And so Sonisphere Festival 2010 started with Warrior Soul as the first band to play. They play old classical heavy metal, but they didn't really catch my attention. Although they were quite okay to be the first band to play.
Moreover, during their show the goddamn rain started. And it kept raining for the whole day...

IMPERIAL STATE ELECTRIC
When Warrior Soul stopped playing, quite a lot of people had entered the festival area and it was time for Imperial State Electric to play - a quite odd and interesting band fronted by Nicke Andersson. They played some sort of swingy metal. I liked it, although it became quite repetitive after a while. Lord Knows I Know It Ain't Right and Deja Vu were two memorable songs.

ANTHRAX
I might as well just spit it out - I'm not a big fan of thrash metal in general and I have no interest in The Big Four, but the performance of Anthax quite changed that.
The band started off with Caught in a Mosh and captured me instantly. I will, without doubt, explore this band more in the future - they totally got the festival feeling going. It was a great show with songs such as Antisocial and Indians. Since I'm not a specialist on the band in question I can't really say much more about them than that it showed they really made an effort and held a great contact with the audience.

HAMMERFALL
When Anthrax had got me going I went to the other stage to see the swedish band Hammerfall which I believe most swedes, at least, know. Joacim Cans and the rest of the band were full of energy and raised the spirit during the goddamn rain. The show held songs such as Any Means Necessary, Let the Hammer Fall and, of course, Hearts on Fire. Even though I know this band isn't that appreciated by a lot of metalfans I'd say they did a good show and personally I've always wanted to sing along to Hearts on Fire live... ;)

SLAYER
As I mentioned, thrash isn't really my thing and therefore I didn't really feel the urge to listen to Slayer. (oh man, people are going to hate me for this, haha.)
I decided to get something to eat during their performance and find a place to get away from the rain (and I did! it was great).

IGGY & THE STOOGES
When Slayer stopped playing it was time for Iggy & The Stooges, but I felt like I wouldn't be able to see mr. Cooper that well if I went to have a look at Iggy and his guys. So I decided to skip his show and squeeze myself into the third row to Cooper instead. Quite a pity, but sometimes one has to prioritize.

ALICE COOPER
I've always liked artists who do something different on stage except jumping around and headbanging so Alice Cooper is a natural choice. Both music and visual effects impress me a lot since it somehow shows that the artist not only is interested in creating good music but also a show which is a true pleasure for both the ears and the eyes.
The fact that I stood over an hour squeezed inbetween wet and sweaty people with the feet in at least 10 cm's of water while the rain poured down on us made me wish like hell that this wasn't something I did in vain. And when the show started I know this wasn't the case...
The 62 year old Cooper started off with the classical School's Out and presented his impressive Theatre of Death during the upcoming hour. Cooper's stage prescence is fantastic and the show totally showed what he's made of. He was beheaded, forced to wear a straightjacket, killed with a huge injection during Poison and by every stunt I wondered how the hell they made it happen. It was impressive.

Setlist:
01 - School's Out
02 - No More Mr Nice Guy
03 - I'm Eighteen
04 - Wicked Young Man
05 - Ballad Of Dwight Fry
06 - Go To Hell
07 - Guilty
08 - Cold Ethyl
09 - Poison
10 - Black Widow Jam
11 - Vengeance Is Mine
12 - Dirty Diamonds
13 - Billion Dollar Babies
14 - Killer
15 - I Love The Dead
16 - Feed My Frankenstein
17 - Under My Wheels
18 - Elected
19 - School's Out

The show of Alice Cooper gave me such a thirst for more! It was the show at the festival in which I enjoyed myself the most I think and I really, really hope I get the chance to see Cooper live again!

MÖTLEY CRÜE
The moment Alice Cooper stopped playing I ran as fast as I could to the other stage - but unfortunately I didn't get that close at all. If I stood on my tiptoes I could see the band on the stage, so I had to make do with watching the widescreen instead. And that wasn't too bad either.
When Mötley Crüe entered the stage it felt really weird. I've dreamt about seeing these guys live for I don't know how long and my dream finally came true. They even started off with Kickstart my Heart and I was so damn happy. But I also noticed the band is quite battered (which isn't that much of a surprise considering the life they've lived). Vince has gained weight and can't really sing those high pitched parts and Mick's disease is more and more visible. It makes me quite sad because he's my favourite in the band and I get to think of what he wrote in The Dirt about it. But regardless he managed to do all the solos and they impressed me a lot - creds to the man!
The spirit was in the top and the band looked really happy and exuberant, especially Nikki who is 52 years old but looks like, and moves like he'd still be 30 years old... Crazy! Moreover, it stopped raining during the show and the evening suddenly felt much better.

Setlist:
01 - Kickstart My Heart
02 - Wild Side
03 - Shout At The Devil
04 - Saints Of Los Angeles
05 - Live Wire
06 - Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)
07 - Same Ol' Situation (S.O.S.)
08 - Mutherfucker of the Year
09 - Primal Scream
10 - Dr. Feelgood
11 - Girls, Girls, Girls

The only thing I can complain about is that the show was too short! Eleven songs are not that much and it felt like the concert was over as fast as it started.

IRON MAIDEN
And so it was time for the biggest band at Sonisphere to play. I've never really been a huge Maiden fan but I really think they're a cozy band and I looked forward to see them live. And I wasn't disappointed. Bruce Dickinson bounced onto the stage and entertained us from the very beginning to the very end. They treated us to both old and new songs and part of me shivered as the band played Fear of the Dark when the darkness had fallen over Stora Skuggan. The band's lightning show helped the ambience to become completely magical. It was impossible to draw attention to anything but the band's show, because it all felt so huge. 47 000 people in the audience made me all shaky and the feeling that replenished me was both grandeur and fellowship. Speaking of fellowship I got a little kiss on my cheek by some unknown bloke who thought it was important for us all to feel the fellowship, haha :P

Sonisphere Festival finished off with a huge thunderstorm directly after Maiden got off the stage and on the subway on the way back to my hotel I could barely grasp what I actually saw during the day. The happiness was total.

(Disclaimer: None of these pictures were taken by me! Found them in the Sonisphere group at Facebook.)
